The EU has decided to ease regulations in the area of sustainability reporting, raising concerns about a potential decline in transparency.
While the EU maintains ambitious climate goals under the Green Deal, regulatory relaxation may lead to confusion in reporting. Nevertheless, European companies are making significant progress in reducing emissions and advancing the energy transition.
Financial Times and Statista have published the list of Europe’s Climate Leaders, featuring companies that achieved the most substantial CO₂ emission reductions between 2018 and 2023. The focus of this list is on companies that have reduced their Scope 1 and 2 emissions and demonstrated transparency in their reporting.
Out of 2,000 companies assessed, only 600 were selected—and Tarkett now ranks among the top five in the building materials sector. Tarkett is also the only flooring and sports surfaces manufacturer to make the list.
This recognition is a clear sign that long-term actions and consistent progress have a measurable impact, reaffirming that we are on the right track to achieve our ambitious 2030 goals.
