Parquet installation

Parquet installation

Where can parquet be installed?

The multilayer Tarkett parquet can be installed over concrete, screed, ceramic tiles, terazzo, marble, wood underlay, over completely glued down vinyl tiles, elastic tiles and linoleum... If you want to install parquet over underfloor heating, you need to enquire if the selected product is recommended for such use.

Before installation

The underlay on which the parquet is going to be installed must be clean, flat, dry and structurally clean. If you are installing it in a new building, don't be impatient. Wait until the doors and windows have been installed, as well as until the “wet” works (cementing, plastering and painting) have dried well before you bring in your new parquet. Leave the unopened parquet lying in that room for at least 48 hours before installation.

Installation-ready parquet
Multilayer Tarkett parquet is delivered as ready to install boards. It has been sanded and lacquered, which means that there is no dust and harmful fumes during installation, and the lacquer we are talking about is Proteco Strong, the best finish in this industrial branch.

After installation, the parquet is ready to use the same day.

Parquet installation by gluing

Your new parquet has arrived and everything is ready. There are two basic types of installation: glue-down (which used to be the only way in the past) and “floating” installation, without using glue. Glue-down installation requires a little more work and time (applying the glue, removing the excess, drying and waiting for the floor to be ready to use…), does not enable easy board removal or replacement, but creates an extremely stable structure. If you want to avoid installing thresholds, use the glue-down installation method.

Floating installation

Multilayer Tarkett parquet is extremely fast and easy to install without gluing, by joining boards using a state-of-the-art  T-lockTM (“click and lock” ) system which ensures a secure, strong and almost invisible seam. +The boards lock together instantly, creating the perfect finished look right before your eyes.

If any mistakes are made during installation, the boards can be detached and joined again with no trouble. The maximum strength of the joints is achieved immediately and the floor is ready to use. A floor installed in this way can be removed quickly and easily, and the structure is extremely stable, even though no glue was used.

In short, modern multilayer parquet is installed without much trouble and with no need to move out during the installation, and you can enjoy your new floor from the Tarkett parquet collection right away.
