LAMINATE PRICES

LAMINATE PRICES

Laminate is charged per square meter. Prices of laminate vary depending on various factors, such as: the quality of laminate, surface effects of laminate planks, dimensions of planks, bevelled edges, surface coating, warranty period of laminate.

Although invisible, HDF density is a characteristic which stability and strength of laminate flooring depend on. Laminate whose density exceeds 850 kg/m3 is considered to be of good quality.

Quality laminate offers a more natural wood or tile appearance,
various surface effects, enhanced resistance, and ensures a longer warranty period. This is worth bearing in mind given that we change flooring in our homes only a few times over our lifetime.

Given a large number of options, laminate prices vary and depend on the chosen characteristics of laminate. You can check the prices of the chosen laminate at the nearest point of sale.

What should be taken into consideration besides the price of the laminate?

You should add an extra 5% to the square meterage of laminate and the underlayment since the laminate will be trimmed during installation. In case you buy less laminate, there is a possibility that you won’t have enough laminate to cover the desired surface.

The laminate price is just one of the costs that should be taken into consideration when buying laminate. Additional costs that you may have when installing laminate, may include: moving of the furniture, removal of the old flooring, subfloor preparation, costs of laminate installation, as well as the costs of accessories: skirting, mouldings, underlayment, etc.

In case the subfloor over which you lay laminate is perfect, i.e. even, dry, and hard, additional costs include foam underlayment over which the laminate is laid, skirting, and the cost of installation itself.

Installation of laminate over existing flooring

Although it is possible to install laminate over existing flooring, the flooring over which the laminate is to be laid must be even, hard, and free of moisture. If this is not the case, you may incur additional costs of removal of the existing flooring and subfloor preparation. These costs depend on the condition of the existing flooring and the activities that need to be carried out in order to bring the flooring to the desired state.
