In the former lobby of the Cinema Bucuresti, there is a space dedicated to clothing products, accessories, cosmetics and home-deco products created from sustainable materials with production techniques friendly to the environment and skin. The first sustainable store in Romania, ALTRNTV store.

The space was created by architects from OBLIC studio, together with Tarkett Romania, the sponsor of the flooring material. Inspired by client’s clothing production workshop with reused materials and the theme of sustainability and low carbon footprint, the main concept of the ALTRNTV store is based on reused and recycled materials, chosen in the provided space. 

The decorative elements, the intelligent lighting system, is designed to make energy consumption more efficient. The other materials used were slightly reused from the production of custom furniture suppliers that were covered with the same Tarkett material and locally recovered laminated plywood. Therefore, respecting the client’s brief, the choice of architects for the floor was a successful solution, being a 90% reused and malleable material, which was easy to implement.

The used flooring, Tarkett iQ Surface, is made of recycled material. Flooring concept embodied the idea of fashion pattern through the discreet use of floor joining elements, a pattern which is also used in fashion. The idea was a sustainable shop with that of a sustainable fashion workshop.
